Hello People,
I received a verbal offer letter from Oracle. I said yes and things moved on. BGV was initiated as well. BUT, Yesterday I received a call from the hiring manager that Oracle is putting hiring freeze, so they are not able to release offer letter as 1 approval was still pending from the VP. He said I will be contacted once freeze is over. Do you think I still have any chances of getting in once the freeze is lifted and how long the freezes are in Oracle ? Oracle

350 sq feet? For two people? Bro you are fucking crazy lol

Seems like a very good price for the south end, especially for a newly renovated unit, even if it’s a studio. They don’t get much cheaper than that - I think calling it expensive is a hot take.
What is it near? As you get southwest the area can get a little sketchy at night. I’d personally want to stay north of Shawmut/Washington and east of Mass Ave.
The area around BMC is one to avoid.
That’s a super cheap rent for a place without roommates! As another person commented, depends on where in the south end - if you’re close to BMC, it’s extremely sketchy. That area is called methadone mile.
First time living in Boston btw!
Welcome to the South End! Sounds like you found a nice, small apartment in what I consider the best neighborhood in Boston.
Doesn't seem crazy... Maybe a little high this year since rents went down so much. But how are you going to survive in that much space with two people?!
350 sq ft for two people? Unless one of you is in school the south end isn’t worth that hell
Guys, I’m a complete noob so forgive me. I’m living in the heart of South Boston, not South end, sorry 😅
That’s about the size of my wine fridge.
That physically hurt!
Sounds about right
Expensive
Expensive and tiny
Sounds pretty cheap if you ask me. At the very least fair. Definitely not expensive
Ok! I lived in Southie for a few years (just moved out to the burbs after having my first child). Definitely different from the south end! Southie also has a few sketchy areas/projects that you’ll hear gun shots in. The east side of Southie is generally safer and more residential, while the west side has more bars/restaurants, but also has more projects. Our 2br/2ba condo (1,000 sq ft) rented for $3,400 so I’d say you’re definitely getting a deal. 350 sq ft is tiny though for 2 people.
I live in a 390 sq ft apt with my boyfriend and we pay $2100 😅
Sorry just saw your reply OP, yeah I have my desk in the bedroom and his desk is in living room so we weren’t on top of each other during wfh. Not much room for anything else in either room
350ft is absurd. Y’all are going to be on top of each other
Get a bigger place - don’t do south end. Move to South Boston / Cambridge or even Quincy. You can do a lot better
*i made an updated comment, our place is actually in South Boston
Expensive for that size. Doesn’t matter how nice. How are you two going to live in that tiny space
