I'm not sure if the credit history even comes with you? Someone in another bowl was complaining that their Canadian credit didn't come with them to the US and couldn't get high end credit cards.
Amex let’s you carry over your credit rating - as far as I’ve seen no other Canadian or UK banks / cards do that
Given that, unless you have a credit history in the US already or are good with like a $500 limit once you move (not exaggerating, tot’s a real possibility), I’d keep the Amex and transfer it over. Honestly, it’s the thing that’s had me keep an Amex over the years - it’s let me get cards in the US and UK when I first moved to both
Amex lets you bring your credit rating once. You wouldn’t be able to get an Amex if you didn’t with no credit history.
