My acceptance letter stated my salary would be reviewed annually on my emoloyment anniversary. I've been told for four months now that the company has hired a third party to review salaries company wide to compare to the national average. I emailed HR with concerns and questions about my past due review. My manager emails today to let me know that HR forwarded my email to her and said "see below and address". Even though my manager does not have authority to review or approve salaries! 🤬

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?
