I've had to leave days off on the table and I always kick myself over it later. At the time, however, it can be really difficult to just walk away from ongoing projects and work, especially if I have no great use for the time off anyway. Perhaps you can do some long weekends and use up some days like that over the next month. And take time off in December if you're not going to totally derail things you're working on. If you have to leave some days unused, it's not the worst thing. For next year, I'm planning to take some time off in the spring, so I'll get a jump on it.
I say don’t lose it. Might as well take December off. How much work does anyone get down between Thanksgiving and New Year’s anyway.
