Would you be expected to work 10 hour days, instead of 8 hour days, if you switch to a 4 day work week?

You’re right, the structure matters. This would be four 8-hour days, not compressed 10s, so it’s a true 32-hour week. That’s why the 20% time reduction for 10% less pay feels reasonable. My concern is more about long-term comp growth. Do reduced schedules tend to affect advancement in your experience?
If I'm still working a normal eight hour day during those four days, yes. If they're asking me to squeeze 40 hours of work into four days and cutting my pay to do it, no way. I'm assuming the former is true for you though, which sounds pretty appealing. And a bit surprising, if I'm being honest. 20% less work for only 10% less pay sounds like a solid tradeoff.

What are the trade offs that come with it? Would your benefits be affected if you’re going from 40 hours to 32 hours per week?

Benefits are still being clarified, and that’s key. If they remain intact, the tradeoff feels balanced. If they’re prorated, the pay cut becomes more significant. In similar setups, were benefits typically adjusted when hours were reduced?
