My company keeps hinting about “more in-office collaboration,” and everyone’s pretending that doesn’t mean a mandate is coming. I get the value of face time, but I also get so much more done at home. The commute alone feels like a tax on my sanity. How are people pushing back on return-to-office pressure?

People often work in teams, and teams work better if they're together. It's not so complicated. I know I learned a lot by being around other people in the workplace, and I can't imagine that learning by osmosis could have happened in a remote scenario. People can try to make a case for staying remote, but I imagine a lot of companies won't entertain the discussion. It's true that commuting can be awful, but it's just part of life. I'm sure people back in ancient Rome complained about having to walk to their daily grind at the tabularium.

In my case, there really was no pushing back. We all tried talking to leadership about how unnecessary it was for us to be in the office five days a week, but it didn’t matter. Once the decision was made, that was that.

So, after a year of not so quietly making it known that I wanted to make the transition from the tech side to the business side I have officially been extended an offer to take on a Project Manager internally (coming from a software configurer). The client I have been assigned to has many of our products, however, the specific project I have been assigned to is a problem child and has damaged the companies relationship with the client. Any advice for a new, young PM being shoved into a problem?

Hello All,

Can anyone please help me here.
I have made my tax payment in July 2022 but yesterday (15 Nov 2022) I receive an email that tax payment is due for assessment year 2022-23

I called to help desk and he advised to raise rectification request from Tax portal and update the challan number. I tried to raise request but need to upload some XML or json file there. I am not sure how to upload or modify that file.

Does anyone know what steps need to follow as I already made my tax payment.

I left my job about a year ago to relocate, make sure it was the right decision and start a side business in the mean time. Now I’m actively looking for a new sales position, have tons of experience, but am struggling to even get a response from job apps. I am wondering if this is because of my employment gap? Hey FishBowl Friends, so I’m currently trying to break into tech sales/FinTech and I feel that due to my previous work history, I might not look like the ideal candidate on paper but I’m an extremely fast learner and very coachable. I’ve been a manger at a gym, got my degree in finance, worked as a client advisor at a top 3 auto dealer in the nation and now I’m a project manager at a solar company. I really want something that’s remote and steady, any recommendations on how to spruce myself up?

Holding brief 10 minute calls to go over more details. $60K base, full benefits, uncapped commission. Must be NY based. Comment if you’d like a DM to discuss more

“Job hopper” and “quiet quitting” are all schemes made up by boomers to make you think everything is the employees fault. When in reality people are just getting out of bad situations. Older companies do whatever they can to pay you the least amount and get the max work out of you. Except our generation will just leave amid we’re being mistreated, not complain for 35 years making 50k and 0 advancement.

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Then sit here and can’t figure out why…
