So, I’m currently interviewing for new job, and market is not bad, but I’m anxious and I am interviewing for every opportunity that comes my way (director/vp level, tech). Today, September 30 I received an invite for an initial interview for another opportunity. So I applied to this opportunity through networking on August 10 (!). It looks like a red flag for me and I’m thinking thankyounext, but again it’s covid time... Thoughts?
How long, on average, did it take you to study before you could pass the PHR/SPHR exam? Did you think it was worth it?
For those of you who spent the time and money to get the PHR or SHRM certifications, do you feel that it actually strengthened your professional capabilities as on HR professional, or did you just do it to fit into the “HR Professional” crowd?
Tough question to ask, but who has benefitted the most from the pandemic? Eg SaaS as a category.
Who owns renewals at your company? Customer Success? Renewal specialists? AEs? There are a lot of articles out there but doesn't seem to be a consensus on this topic. My company is struggling with this and curious as to how others handle it.
As a company we are looking at going digital with our employee personnel and medical files etc. What are some of the ways you have done that? Any advice/recommended process?
Am I the only one who will miss pajama Fridays? May be a bigger question: am I the only one practicing them?
It seems like Apple has a history of anti-competitive practices that affect customers. Do you agree?
Does anyone have a good recommendation for resources or a company that helps with international investment advice? I'm quite early in my career, but as a UK citizen working in Ireland and wanting to move abroad to the US or elsewhere, it's such a headache to know what to do, considering the different legislations.
If you had $500K tomorrow, what would you do with it? Particularly in terms of investing.
Has anyone transitioned from Product Analyst to APM/PM or PMM roles? Looking for some advice on how I need to pose myself to fall into those roles? I do get heavy exposure to Product teams already for a consumer facing product.
Do you feel like people are, yourself included maybe, spending more on apps than before? Seems like a lot more are willing to pay.
What is the highest TC you've heard of at FAANG?
How do you feel about the quality of people management at your place of work? Are low performers put on performance improvement plans? Are high performers rewarded? Is low performance a huge issue?
I just started a new job and am 10 weeks along in my pregnancy. I interviewed and accepted the offer prior to knowing I was pregnant. When should I break the news to my boss and team? I’m currently working remotely and expect to be remote until at least September.
Curious to know which airline frequent flyer programs fellow LAX travelers have status with. I’ll go first: Delta Platinum, Alaska MVP Gold 75K, and United Silver here

My brother runs a design company that makes luxury brand displays, packaging, etc. He has a client who wants only design work, no production (not common for him). What’s the going hourly rate in NYC?
Just had my comp call and I feel I'm making much less than my peers. I've always been rated a 4/5. Advanced degree (non mba), National Advisory, NYC, PI-Analytics, Sr 3. How much should I be making?
Monday morning and the only thing that goes through my mind is wow I hate my job. Between the strict requirement of releasing billing time daily, high billable goal and I guess a heavy workload (and everything that comes with living through a pandemic) it’s hard to start my day excited for work. And I hate it. Makes me question why I’m doing this for a living.
My friend has following offers from three companies after MBA (two offcampus and one from campus) 1. Finance Effectiveness/ EPM role at one of the Big 4 2. Deal Advisory role at one of the Big 4 3. Organization strategy role from one of the top consulting companies (not Big 4) Which role offers the best exit options? All the offers from US support teams of the companies. OS role offers better than the other two (only slightly), but I am interested in a good profile
I am at the 2nd round of my interview for the Recruiter Position for a German Company in Germany. I want to ask what should I prepare for this interview and which situations could they give me to check my Recruitment knowledge? Basic questions have been asked in the first interview.
2nd Year TMT IB Analyst here at a small, no-name boutique looking to break into GE / PE in NY. Been networking and applying to jobs. Have gotten into a number of interview processes but wondering if I should try to get into a smaller buyside shop then lateral before B school or after B school - any thoughts? Also, would love to hear how I can best differentiate myself?
How does maxing out on Deloitte 401k plan benefit you on annual company matching amount? I already have traditional 401k and I am debating whether to contribute extra on Roth 401k or Roth IRA?
Is it true that Cognizant lays off/fires even the most loyal people just like that by deliberately giving low ratings and by paying 4 months salary up front or is it really only for those worse performing employees?
Can you start working at another big 4 firm while taking terminal pto at your current one (during 2 week notice period), assuming that you are not on a project?
Are 401k’s really worth investing in these days? What are the % returns you guys have been seeing for the last few years? For those that have been working before 2008, how much of an impact did the housing crash have on 401k and how much did the recent COVID pandemic affect it?
Should I choose to go into an industry that is “perfect for my background” or into an industry that I am interested in? My background is healthcare/life science but interested in commercial banking. Compensation and job security are my top priorities.
I keep seeing people talking about 401k, IRA, HSA and other US stuff.. Talking to the rest of the world folks, what are your advices on personal finance that might be country/region specific?
Pre covid we saw maybe a dozen or two planes flying over our house each day. Skies have been silent since March but yesterday we saw five or six within a few hours. Anyone else noticing an uptick?
Working with someone that has ZERO confidence is so challenging. Not only do they hate everything they do, then they project that onto my work. Any tips on how to get through this?
