My resume got shortlisted for Operations Associate/Engineer-Amazon Managed Services role. I am an experienced AWS engineer with 5YOE.I feel like this role will be degrading in nature for me. Is it worth joining for this position. I would love to join Amazon based on my experience and skill set. But Not to some position which doesn't require AWS experience.

I got an offer from another company. Currently working in walmart. The main idea behind getting an offer is to ask for a salary rise. I was very much underpaid here. So I thought getting an offer will help increase my pay here in walmart by getting counter offer from them. But i am not sure if I discuss with my manager it will backfire me.Walmart

is there a role at the c suite level for HR? I’m always personally suspicious of organizational structures that have finance, operations, etc. at the c suite level but not HR. if the new owners are overwhelmed, I would want to be positioning my experience in integrations, or how I could add in organizing the people side of the business to support ongoing growth. Highlight your business acumen, as well as your HR experience. Shame on your current leader for not positioning you at the appropriate level. Sounds like you’re a good asset. Good luck with the conversation.
I was recently in a similar position (not acquisition but change in CEO). I was also part of the Executive Team but didn’t have the Chief title. When the Interim CEO came in (while we recruited for a new CEO), he kept referring to me (internally and externally) as the Chief People Officer. While I appreciated the reference, I wasn’t getting paid for that level. I approached him about it and when he told me I wouldn’t be receiving a pay increase, I respectfully asked that I not be referred to as such. When the new CEO joined in April, I continued to perform as I always had and when review conversations started happening, I continued to remind him what I brought to the table… and effective January, I will be CPO (with the appropriate pay). Long way to say, continue to perform (show them why you’re on the Executive Team in the first place), be prepared to give examples of how you have contributed to business objectives and strategy (people, operations, financial, etc.), give examples of what you will bring to the table during the transition and into the future, and never stop advocating for yourself. Being part of the Executive Team is great (in theory) but only if you’re treated as such in all facets.
