Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

It totally depends in which department you want to go, its not necessary for Audit, Compliance and Risk etc. can you tell little bit about your work experience?

As I am new here with no experience in Canada, I am not getting calls for interviews. I am okay to start from entry level positions for this reason, and that's why I was thinking whether I should do the CSC and put it on my resume

Get now… you never know when life gets too busy… later you will regret saying I passed 1 and 2 but didn’t finish

I have a friend in Canada who is looking for new agents. Reach out I can make a connection.

I went to a T14 law school, got great grades and glowing recommendations, and wrote (what I thought was) a great writing sample. But I got rejected from all 70 federal clerkships I applied to. The only thing I can think of is: I took a non traditional route after law school and did a 2 year public interest fellowship in a niche field of administrative law. The rejection gave me a lot of self hatred. I still really want to clerk. Any advice? What is wrong with me? I feel like a failure.

How do you guys with off year-end busy seasons do it?! I have a 3/31 this year, but I got picked up on some rough 12/31’s too. Is it normal for a big4 to take over two months in the interview process? Since end of January I've had five interviews w team members, including with the partner who leads the practice I'd be joining. Still no word. I've gotten nothing but positive feedback with the in-house recruiter I'm working with. Is this normal? Client base would be asset managers & PE firms.
