I would start looking sooner rather than later. The job market is very rough right now. It can take 6 months or more to find a role in this job market.
I would start looking now as it’s taking longer to find a job than usual.
I would start looking at the beginning of January, personally. The job search process is taking months these days and employers would be fine with your need for a week off.
I agree. Companies don’t really hire year end so once the holidays are done, I would think there would be a better chance of finding another job.
I knew my job was ending in May 2024 and I started looking in December 2023. In 6 months and 400 applications, I had 2 recruiter screens, one interview, and one job offer for a 3-month contract, which I ended up declining due to a full-time job offer that came a week later, through a referral at my old job. I didn’t land that job permanent offer until the very end of November 2024. I would start looking now and, if the right opportunity comes up, end your contract early and accept.
Every EA job I'm applying to has thousands of applicants (according to my premium LinkedIn in stats) usually 5k+. I'd start sooner rather than later. I'm getting very few responses. And if you're looking for remote, many jobs are listed as fully remote, but then they reach out saying they actually want you in 3 days a week.
