My financial analyst has been working with me for years now but I'm not quite sure I need his assistance any longer. How would you communicate this to him?

Be honest.

I hired you to handle things until I was ready to handle things myself.
I am in a position to take the reins back and I’m going to take control.

Should things change, I’ll certainly follow up with you.

Just curious to how my firms (wealth management/bank/trust) comp compares with others out there. I received a promotion earlier this year from an Investment Advisor, AVP to Senior Investment Advisor, VP and moved from $110K to $140K ($130 salary + $10K discretionary bonus) all in. By meeting expectations in 2 pay cycles, the base bumps up to $175K + bonus. Grown in this role over about 10 years with the same firm, MBA + CFA; top 10 city and living comfortably as dual income household.
