Accept it for what it is. Our generation is screwed. Hardly any of us will be able to afford a home the way our parents did.

There is no competing. I have accepted that I will be renting forever. Which, given how fast the cost of rent is rising, may mean giving up my studio for having roommates in the not so distant future. It's unfortunate that there is no opportunity left for people.

You don’t. Sadly, you just don’t. I think they said the average age of a first time homebuyer now is in their 40s. That means you’ll be paying off your mortgage for the rest of your life. You will die not fully owning your house. I don’t even find it worth it to buy a house anymore.

Even making more than our parents did doesn’t get us close to what they had. Feels like the system is just stacked against us.
In the past this has made me really depressed. I've decided to just be positive about the things I do have, and making my little apartment my own. Obviously it still hurts, but I try my best to adjust my thinking.
