My spouse and I text throughout the workday and it’s basically the same thing every day (ask how it’s going mid day and when we’re wrapping up) unless something comes up. Do other people do this too or are we a little boring?

Are you bored? If not, who cares?

My husband and I do this, or we’ll send
pictures of ourselves / our daughter. It’s cute to know he’s thinking of & missing us.

Op
Yes, ditto for my wife and I. This is quite normal. You are not boring. Media has convinced us that each day has to be exciting in a defined way and it can break relationships and break people

Hahah my husband and I definitely do that. We just like to keep in touch throughout the day. It definitely doesn't make you boring.

like

It is nice. Honestly what’s boring is that sometimes nothing really comes up during the day so send the same texts a few days a week.

Same and it’s not boring.

like

Thats what married people do. Its not an affair, it will be mundane.

Most single people text same boring stuff with their parents. They call their parents when they are going to work, call during breaks, call when they reach hotel etc. i see that with my single middle aged colleagues all day long.

like

That’s a fair point

like

We do the same! Funny memes, dinner recommendations, letting each other know about personal appointments… I don’t think you’re boring!

like

We don't have the type of jobs to call and txt multiple times a day. I occasionally txt or call family members, and friends , and delete emails on my down time at work.

like

I text and talk to him at times

I wish I had someone special to text and visa versa but just dating

How old are you if you don’t mind me asking?

Kinda like others have mentioned, if its not boring for you, who cares. Do what works best for you and your spouse. I think its cool. Especially if you can share funnies with each other or picture or videos of kids. My wife and I share pics or videos of our new grandson, which we love and enjoy.

It’s just knowing you care to check in. If you don’t care to check in, don’t. Stop complaining

I have a public facing job so my phone is kept in my locker. During breaks I try to take a walk outside instead of grabbing my phone. But sometimes I'll check texts. I definitely check before driving home in case I need to pick something up along the way. So no, we don't really do that. But I wouldn't think it's boring that you do. I just guess you like each other

I'm at 78k currently, which is apparently still in the upper range of EIT salaries per a job posting in CO. I'm thinking of 15% (5% merit, 10% PE). Any ideas?

I am not sure who needs to hear this but exactly one year ago, I was at my lowest point in life. Today, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. Life has truly been a rollercoaster these past few years for me.

I am sharing this to tell you that no matter what you’re feeling right now, it won’t last. Even the happiness I feel right now, I’ve had that stripped from me multiple times. That is LIFE. We have the good and the bad.

Hang in there if times are bad. If things are good, prepare to lose it too.

Home office preference question. I am getting ready to redo the layout of my home office. One option I'm considering would have my desk facing a wall. I am wondering if anyone with this current setup has any feedback about it. I would face the wall so that I would have a better background for video conferences (am on about half the day) and also my cord situation would be cleaner.
