Unless you are in sales , you aren’t really generating revenue. You are doing work someone else sold. If you think being billed out to clients is somehow safer than HR in terms of job security, look at all the people on the bench who get laid off. They had no control over whether there was enough work. Do a job you will enjoy at a company where you will enjoy doing it.
Why let the comp and title jump you’re getting go to waste. You can always move to a revenue generating role at the other firm after a while or even boomerang back to your current firm.
I’m assuming you’re exiting from the T&O practice. This sounds like a great job and also a job that’s probably going to use the skills you’ve built at Accenture. Another way to look at it is what job in industry would you rather take that aligns with the skills you’ve built? I’d take this job
HR always gets chopped. Be close to revenue or have right or return
Take the job bro. Job security, you will excel up their ladder and performance chain given your consulting background. If you decide after a couple of years you want to go back into consulting, you’ll be coming back as “an industry expert” which you’ll be compensated for.
Don’t talk yourself out of this amazing opportunity.
Well if you are a director you have buying and negotiating influence which I feel is very valuable should you return to sales foh. I feel gives you an edge.
