Need some advice please! My lease ends on 7/1 and it doesn’t specify a move out time. My landlord is saying I need to move out by 11:59pm on 6/30. Is this correct? I thought I had until end of day on 7/1 to move out if the lease doesn’t specify a time. My new apartment, the move in date is not until 7/1 so i can’t move in until then. Thanks in advance!!

Not sure where you’re geographically located, but in New York, you have until 11:59 PM on the final day of the lease term to move out. It’s unusual that a landlord would end the lease term on the first of the month. Most leases would say “July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024”. Double check your lease document to make sure you have the correct final day as well as full understanding of any special terms regarding move-out. If your lease does actually end on the first of the month, it’s likely that you can legally stay, but you also would owe your landlord that one day of rent, or 1/31 of your monthly rent.

Thank you so much! I am in Chicago. Yes I also thought it was strange that my lease did not end on the last day of the month. Originally it was supposed to end on 7/5 but I asked to move it to 7/1. It definitely says it ends on 7/1 though

I have the location constraint, should I wait for the right opportunity or raise this concern to ADP team so they can look in to it?

As per ADP policy, one should not have any constraints and take the project as FCFS basis.

I'm at a smaller MM bank. My original goal was to start here and hustle through into a BB, but I wasn't expecting to really like the people (my team, my direct seniors). I think the work we do probably wouldn't differ a crazy amount (we close deals, just smaller of course) and I'm wondering if I really have a reason to try to move into a bigger bank.

However Redfin called me and said they put their top regional lead on transaction which is set to close in 10 days. I’m conflicted with what to do. As a buyer I know I can switch firms with seller’s consent and it won’t impact the deal, or will it? The agent said if I went with him he’s throw me an additional incentive to close with him.
