I recommend La Palma! They have really great Italian food and the atmosphere alone is enough to awaken your senses. Don't let the posh interior fool you. They have plenty of affordable items on the menu for you to try. It's worth the hype in my opinion.
Mamakas on Ossington 👌
La Palma is bomb. Piano Piano is good as well. Do you have a specific preference on cuisine?
Have you noticed the quality in the food drop post-COVID though?? Feel like its not just them either
Richmond Station is excellent without being over the top. On the pricier side, but you definitely get what you pay for.
I loved Petros82 on Adelaide. Lamb chops are from another world.
Depending on the guests I love to give a special experience with the speakeasy @ King + Lower Simcoe to my friends and family that visit the city. Not the best for intimate catch up conversations but is fun and special. Easy to grab dinner at someplace acceptable like Elephant Castle then spice it up at the speakeasy
Coffee Oysters Champagne
When you arrive, you have to say that you’re there for ‘A Toi’. They’ll ask you to take a seat or step off to the side and 2-10 minutes later someone will come by to take you on a tour of their champagne collection. That’s the invite. The place is very fun for someone that doesn’t know what to expect - especially if there’s a burlesque show that night. There are plenty of reviews of people that didn’t have a great time because they fucked up the arrival and end up getting neglected
Tabule for middle eastern food
Bar Isabel isn’t bad.
Terroni’s is a proper Italian spot for the the price.
Fair point!
There’s a new restaurant on Queen West called Florette! They have great sharing plates and cocktails. Vibe is refined but chill/casual.
Terroni on Adelaide. The courthouse is cool for tourists.
Budget?
Barque Smokehouse, Starving Artist, and the Lakehouse Restaurant. These are my family favorites. But there's one restaurant I really want to try. It's callwd the Pickle Barrel. I love that it has Al fresco seating with a water view. Amazing hearty food!
Where is there a Pickle Barrel with a water view?
Jatujak or Pai for thai food.
