I had a similar stretch, and honestly, what helped was leaning on the parents a bit. I'd email updates to set expectations and asked for patience. Most were super understanding and flexible.

This sounds like such a great solutions. For the most part, if parents are aware that there is a circumstance beyond your control, they will be understanding and helpful.
Yep, this sounds familiar. At my school, when several teachers got sick at the same time, it became the norm too—and they never brought in temporary staff to cover us. I’d say… you can only do so much. Do your best, ask other teachers for help if needed, and give yourself grace. Wishing you the best of luck!

I agree, do your best. Document what is going on in a "journal", so you have record of the experience. That way if anyone comes at you about something, you have record of the time when you were covering everything on your own.
I'm so sorry 😞 I hope you get the help you need. It's my understanding there are shortages everywhere. Our building sub is currently in one of the toddler rooms due to staffing shortages, and it's not because admin hasn't advertised or interviewed candidates or lack of trying.

I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this. I hope things get better. It is stressful trying to cover everything that needs to be taking care of. Do you have parent volunteers who can step in to help?
I totally understand. Currently we are so understaffed that some people aren't getting lunch breaks and it's really frustrating.
