Mate you just described the reason for our existence

Yeah, I was just thinking this too 😅
seldom do clients consider the enablements that are needed to facilitate an AI solution. They want the F1 car but they haven’t spent the time to have the roads that can facilitate the performance of the car.
As consulting leaders push to sell the solutions, or respond to the demand, you don’t want to be one to tell the client “you’re just not ready for this, let’s try to get the basics down first”
Yea... Just think about how decision makers are incentivized. They want immediate ROI that will make shareholders go woo after the next earnings call.
Spending $5 million to clean up data environment or process has no immediate ROI. You have to do it, then spend the money on the revenue producing solution on top.
Spending $5 million on a new RGM or CPQ tool has an immediate ROI on paper in the business case... Unfortunately no executives really consider that their crap inputs are going to produce............. Less than optimal results (crap outputs)
If you can find a way to effectively sell the foundational work, then pull through the "shiny new toy" work, let me know!
This drives me up the wall. I also find some of our internal leaders having the same mindset?? My boss wants to demonstrate some fancy AI tools to a client to solve their problems, but we already know their data are so garbage that *nothing* will help until it's sorted out. Feels like screaming into a void.
I think there are unrealistic expectations on implementation and results - driven largely by what is pitched. Also unrealistic expectations and lack of understanding of AI. Data clean up should be a requirement, although no one wants to do it.
AI is the sexy thing now, but maybe not the best solution for many clients.
Yes!!! It's annoying even when you point out the data when they made bad decisions they don't take responsibility 🤦🏽♀️ Job security for us. LOL
Come to Jesus and find out just how meaningless some client’s data is #sundayfishing
