Any advice on moving from L4 to L5 in Amazon?
JPMorgan Chase Did a first round interview for a senior level position at JP Morgan.. hiring manager said I should receive a call back within a couple of weeks.. been over a month.. no intimation post that.. the HR in charge of hiring or scheduling haven’t replied to my emails on what comes next and haven’t scheduled anything. So should I consider this as a dead end ? Does this generally happen at JP? Feels weird that I have been ghosted after what I felt was a very good interview.. Was a good fit too.JPMorgan Chase

It’s your first deal lol give it time
You're right, I'm probably overthinking haha

It’s your first deal relax. RM usually tries to staff you with someone to coach you when you are just starting. Give it time
You won’t feel passionate about anything after a few months of working
Are you on a industry team? Or a generalist group. If generalist, I’m not sure how feasible it is to choose what you work on until you meet enough people and ask to be staffed on specific deals proactively
Yeah my resource manager and the team know. I don't really like being in this position because I would feel bad when I say I want to try a different industry after all this time and efforts they have spent training me. Hopefully they are used to and cool with that
I didn’t know we got to pick our industry thought partners just picked you up if you aren’t fully utilized?
I work at a firm that has industry groups for the big ones like tech and healthcare and energy and then a generalist pool
We all have to pitch in and help out when needed regardless of industry. Don’t complain unless there is a pattern of you not getting deals in your industry. Plus much of what you’ll learn will be general M&A and will transfer to other industries.
