Being a director may be comparable to industry job but an equity partner is a very different role. Decide what job you want to do.
Yeah….I don’t really know how they would comparable
I would stay, but that’s just me.
Pro
Seems I’ll fitting to leave based on that
You could have a two year timeframe mentioned in emails. You'd have given yourself a clear deadline or timeline, and have communicated and possibly verified your expectations.
If this is too mentally straining, then you'd be justified in moving.
Nationality, family assets, and psychological profile all play into this. There's no right answer independent of all these factors.
Think about the strain you want to put on your spouse. Independence is very stringent on both of you. Not to mention your investments will be restricted and scrutinized.
Stay. Play the long game
If work itself is comparable sounds like a switch or no switch wouldnt affect anything at home or your own mental health. Making equity partner and just a few years after that youll most likely be in a very, very good position.
Would leaving burn your bridges with those promoting your case to partner? Do you think if not, youd be able to return as partner?
I’d stay unless the industry job had really good prospects beyond the one time pay bump.
