Looking for some advice on the following - I want to make a pivot back to client services, specifically advisory/consulting/transaction services. I have 4 years public accounting experience, and 3.5 years manager experience within the corporate controllership function, both technical and SEC reporting related (more technical than SEC). Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Respect for my clients as people is huge for me. It's what keeps me going. Something this person did was so cowardly that I'm losing respect for them.
Oh, I respect them as people, they are usually fun to go to HH with. But when it comes to project execution, it's hit or miss, and very often miss. Which is what keeps us employed, I guess.
It's absolutely what keeps us in business. I have little patience for those that treat people shitty and don't have the balls to face things head on.
