Is it misleading to just look at Total Compensation from a $ dollar value/ Total Compensation seems to be much more subjective than base salary in terms of its value. Some factors might be:

RSUs granted on dollar value or by # of shares & stock price trends
Vesting schedule
strike price on ISOs & delta between strike price and real market value

For instance, most of value in Amazon's comp seems to be granted in years 3 & 4, but it's well known that most people last only 2 years max there.

In process of buying a house, both my surveyor and specialist damp contractor found damp under kitchen tiles (In the grout) & in skirting boards and up one wall. Sellers had work done initially in 2014 on the wall only(with garuntee) & their company has visited and assured there is no damp… what is next best course of action, get another damp specialist to examine independently of other reports? With my partner we are considering making a move to the countryside of Switzerland, with a gorgeous RE project offering incredible views on immaculate mountains and lake. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then. We are renovating a condo and the previous owner had two Crane toilets (not sure how old, but functioning although seals are old according to our contractor). Back outlet flour mount ones are the only options for the building, and one toilet can cost $300-$500.

We are redoing all the bathroom tiles and walls and debating what we should do with the two toilets. Would resealing the toilets extend the use life? Or should we just replace the toilets? Any other recommendations? TIA!!

I have significant equity in a property (300k+) and maybe another 200k across other properties. I have a decent amount of money in cash and already 200k or so in stocks. Would you consider pulling money through cash out refi and using it? I get nervous for stocks being so high. I have a few properties in pipeline already. How would you suggest using it (if at all).

Worked with an agent on my first deal, great. Second deal now and I’m getting my license myself. I’d like to use her as a backboard for ideas and don’t mind giving her a “finders fee” or something but would like to capture the commissions myself. What would be the normal way to have this convo?

I saw this townhouse in a prime location in my city for $350k (cheap for the area). The floors are all messed up though but the buyer said they’ll either lower the house price or give a credit for closing cost. There’s also a lot of nicks here and there (some locks missing from door, dents, scratches, stains, and some things are loose). But overall, the house’s architecture and design is so beautiful. Would it be worth it to get it and fix it up? Or find a newer house with less maintenance?

Got news that my house closing may have to be moved due to a delay in the sale of my home. My partner’s income was excluded in the DI ratio, but if it were included we’d be well under the % threshold and can be approved to close on time regardless of the sale of my house. However our mortgage company’s underwriting team has been painfully slow in confirming if her income qualifies. She’s been at her new job 1 month after a year off. Anyone with underwriting experience have insight?
