Tata Consultancy I am a manager in Capgemini... have an offer frm TCS. the designation being offered is Assistant Consultant.. 9.8 years experience( 5 yrs with Cap) Even though I am getting a package of 25Lakhs.. it seems like a demotion in designation.. Cg has offered to match upto 23.5 lakhs.. Is it worth moving to TCS on this grade? My primary reason for moving out of Cg is i m bored of beauocracy and WLB at current project. I really think that the insurance policy given by mediassist is way more expensive for parental insurance, means who will pay for 50k+ premium and that too for large copay, I guess the leadership team should intervene here....Parental insurance is really important for any employee and most of the time is only needed.
Recently I used parental insurance and found that the insurance company only paid for 50% of the total bill.

To be fair in the case of Amazon they pay big cash bonuses to account for back loaded vesting schedule
Also, base salary is the best form of compensation when it comes to living the lifestyle you want without any stress.
200K base salary -> you can live as though you actually make 200k. You have total flexibility on how you want to spend and save.
100k base salary + 100k bonus -> you have to live mostly as though you actually make 100K and use the bonus for savings. Unless you already have a lot of money saved in the bank, you can’t live a 200k lifestyle
Having worked in tech, then CPG, and going back to tech, I will say that RSU grants can be a sizable portion of your income. I feel like most companies outside of tech only primarily do base + bonus…maybe a tiny bit of stock but not like in tech. After the cliff, it was nice getting your RSUs vesting every couple months or quarter.
