I am wanting to start investing in real estate in the new year… I’m using this month to read up on it and familiarize myself with it. I am a true beginner and wanted to ask for any tips, tricks, advice, books, videos, magazines, podcasts, etc to start? Please let me know!

At the end of the day… here are some action item options:

1. Buy a duplex, triplex, or fourplex - a fixer. Remodel. Live in one unit and and rent out the other(s). Other people’s rent will pay your cost of living and the mortgage (if you have one). Hopefully you’ll profit. After a couple years, refi that property and buy another income property…. And again… and again…

At some point, you’ll have the easiest time buying a stellar home for yourself (if you desire one).

What state are you in? I can suggest a FB page or two based upon location

Living in a no tax state and hour household makes 550k to 650k per year depending on bonus.

We are considering buying a 2.5M condo w approx 3-4k of monthly condo fees.

Does that seem out of our means? We never spent much and saved about the same amount (2.5M), which is now sitting in stocks.

I feel like I’m at the point where I have too many credit cards and it’s becoming difficult for me to manage to optimize points. Should I close some of them that I don’t use (because I have better point options on my newer ones)? I don’t want to ruin my credit score by decreasing credit limit but I also have a few which I pay $95/year but definitely do not use at all

Your suggestion needed 🙏

I have 4 offer

Delloite: 10.7 lpa ( 9.7 + 1)
Tavant: 14.5 lpa(14 + 0.5 )
Amadeus: 16.5 lpa ( 15+1.5)
Coforge: 18.5 lpa( 17+1.5)

I'm not really interested 1st 2 options as the difference in ctc is big

I'm confused btw amadeus and coforge
Coforge is paying me more but it's a service based company. While amadeus is product based.

Out of the 2 which company is better ( keeping aside the ctc) to join.

Please please share your thoughts

We probably will want to relocate and therefore sell our house in 2-4 years. I can’t time getting market anyway... no need to freak out and sell when I’m not ready, etc. (or conversely, tell me financially I really should sell now if that is what you think!)

5 unit place fully rented. Sounds sketchy but my BIL bought from this seller before and had success. Thoughts?
