Hey guys, Since I am working in Deloitte and right now, I am working from home. I want to go Nepal for 2 months and I want to work from there. Do I need to tell my manager or simply I can go there and start my work. Is there any obligation?
Note- I don't want to tell anyone. Since it may backfire sometimes
Elon moving here? 🥲

Yeah I had a partner say “this is a fake holiday” when I asked if he had any time off. I understand working on it but it felt pretty disrespectful.
That’s sadly the situation everywhere. I had two kick-off calls yesterday. No clue why this couldn’t wait till Monday and had to be done on a holiday.

You don’t have to hate black people to use air quotes. It’s a quasi holiday. Case in point, you were working
That may be but using air quotes when talking about a holiday that celebrates the abolition of slavery everywhere in the US - that sorta kinda means you hate black people let's be real here

It’s only a holiday if the clients think it’s a holiday

Banks and the stock market are closed so, yeah for my clients.

Had a client ask us why the US is making up new holidays. All that to say, we did not get the day off.
Mentor
Correct. This holiday suddenly came out of nowhere, and many of us had to work without staff today because of it.

Sounds like a Texas holiday, at most (it’s doubtful that Texans would have celebrated their own defeat, so it’s probably never been of genuine interest, even there). Should be curtailed to Texas or consolidated with MLK day and the like for efficiency purposes.

I worked all day. This isn’t a real holiday. I even went to the DMV, and everyone was working.

Wow
Yikes
