I have always felt Pottery Barn is waaaaaay overpriced. I typically like to get furniture from a local/regional store. Becker Furniture is my go to. Midwest.

Pottery Barn wasn’t in my price range. I had a huge crate & barrel couch sectional for 8 years that held up well. I think it was marked at $4,800 originally but bought it off clearance for under $2k. Have also bought couches from places like Living Spaces and even Costco that have worked well.
I wouldn’t pay extra for the PB name
Love my crate and barrel couch!

I've bought used pottery barn furniture and it is really well made. I'd never buy it new but recommend used.
I have PB leather dining chairs. Great quality. They were originally $599 but I got them for $99 because they had some heat damage on the back, so they were slightly warped. You can’t when tell.
**Even tell.
PB furniture can last 20+ years. Other brands will last max a decade. That is why the price difference.
I sold my 16 year old dining table set for over half what I had paid for it ($1k new; $550) recently. Solidly made and then maintained over the years. No name brand. Anyone with a modicum of woodworking can tell they will last for years, or decades, more.
A 100% price inflation for just the brand name is insane. But I guess, they are in business because they have it convinced to the people that their name is worth so much more.
For that price, id look into restoration hardware instead
RH is worse than all brands discussed here and twice the price. Stay away from it

Generally speaking PB is good quality, but I’ve never purchased one of their sofas. Do you have a Pottery Barn outlet near you? You can get some amazing deals there. Also, I’d recommend checking out the open box section of the pottery barn website.
A luxury blogger said they actually go Value City Furniture lol
Apparently it’s quality and it holds up
Not my words though
I have a west elm couch which i think is same as PB brands. Price was $6Kish. I didnt pay for it through , by God’s grace.
Just way too much money for a couch
