Policy is to record 7.00 hours… regardless of workflow, billables, non-billables. If you don’t record such hours, the system prompts you to do so. Is this normal?
My previous big law firm, if you a slow day, you know the next day you need to ramp up, therefore no set hours per day but rather meet or exceed your annual budget.

It’s so stupid. My firm has the same thing. Makes no sense how they can’t otherwise see our hours. I’ve worked at two other firms and neither had me do this (in fact the others had weekly or monthly time requirements, except if a deal closed and needed to get a specific matter’s bill out)

We need to record 7 hours. If you did not have 7 hours of work (billable or non billable), then you can put down time for office admin. It’s annoying but it is what it is.

Seems dishonest and pointless to me.

With product design questions, I struggle to identify user groups. Once I do everything starts flowing and I’m confident. But the initial identification of user groups is something I find challenging. What’s your go-to way of doing this? For example, the question “design a podcasting app for truck drivers.” What types of truck drivers can I select so that I can prioritize a user group to focus on and begin identification of pain points and solutions?

Just became an ACD. Im in a limbo. Half of the time im being treated as a Super Senior AD and the other half im being treated as a Almost CD. Then when im scoped over work that my CD and I oversee, some people are asking me how does my role differ from the CD’s, as they tend to look at me as an unnecessary layer for approvals. In a way, i do the job so well that i get asked to do more AD projs and guide more projs — but then: wtf does my CD do? They mostly just 👍🏻what i direct n approve

Also what do you guys fill in notes while filling the timesheet when on bench?
