Posted in the In House bowl about what to wear for a FAANG interview in the Bay Area (in person) and got replies that I think make more sense for men. Ladies, what would you wear to this sort of interview? I think a suit would be an absolute no-go but I don’t know how casual I should go on the business casual scale. My virtual interviewers were wearing tshirts and sweaters.

Not FAANG but I interviewed at a casual company with a similar culture to a tech startup, and I wore jeans, chunky loafers, a tshirt, and an oversized blazer (so more a fashion blazer than a suiting blazer). I basically went for modest and basic, but casual and a little trendy.

I’d probably not do jeans for an interview but aim for more business casual. You’ll likely be a bit overdressed but I think that’s fine for an interview. I’d do a simple, not overly formal work dress or slacks and a blouse. I definitely wouldn’t do a suit.

I’d do a dressier business casual. Even though they are super casual, you’re still there for a good, professional impression. When I interviewed I did a high rise, tailored wide leg pants (the A&F ones), a nice but a little colorful blouse, and heels. Was professional but not overly so and also true to my style 🤷‍♀️

This is where a cute but professional dress can be nice — you have room to show some style, it looks nice but not uptight

A chill work pant or slacks (can be in a fun color or texture, not a sweat pant or legging) short sleeved blouse and a fun necklace with a flat or loafer (or nice sneaker) should take you there

Okay so, its been a while since I've been seeing this in Linkedin:
The Job requirement says its Entry Level, but the experience it requires is always 6 year+... like how would a fresher match that.. should I've started coding at 6th grade or what?

I understand that it's a way of "SEO" in LinkedIn but it just discourages us freshies.

Actually not sure if this post belongs in this bowl but.. it is what it is?
P.s. I still apply to these because what's the worst that could happen... right?
