This is completely within the expected range of 4-5 year old behavior. It may become a thing you need to work on to help your kiddo learn the right tools. But it’s not your fault.
Nothing, you’re overthinking this.
Definitely not a problem unless you are also climbing on furniture. In that case yes, your kiddo is copying you and you should start teaching your little consultant how to make slides!
Huh?
But also —- how do you watch a kid who is pre-K while working full time?
I made an industry exit a couple years ago and now my work is basically managing a 40 member tech implementation team for a core industry area, which basically boils down to strat consulting with business and market teams, reviewing and approving my tech team’s work, helping them solve problems when they are stuck and budget allocations.
At this point, I’ve created an efficient structure in the team where my team is pretty much self empowered and I don’t have to get involved for every little detail. That combined with encouraging independent play for the kiddo helps me juggle things.
Well, except for the instances I mentioned in my post that need 💯 focus.
Multitasking is key but my team and my bosses are also super understanding of my situation and don’t mind my toddler’s inputs in some of the meetings when I’m accidentally not on mute.
You can visualize me speaking on a call (off video) with execs about some critical item while I change the kiddo’s diapers because it has legit happened multiple times at this point.
