What will be the expected salary for a role of Software Engineer (2.5 YOE) in Thoughtspot (except RSUs,benefits)?

I am taking another sick day this coming Monday. It's necessary for both my physical and mental health, which are severely compromised due to the stress of this insane school year (and the last one, and the spring before that -- I think this is cumulative with COVID, the political situation, etc.). I have never taken this many sick days during ANY school year in my 20+ years of teaching. Is anyone else experiencing this? Is anyone else having anxiety about taking so many days off?

If your company doesn't match any amount for 401k for the first year, should you just put your money else where for that first and max those out first (HSA/Roth IRA) before opting to contribute to the 401k?

Decision: max out 401K/Roth/HSA vs contributing but not maxing and instead focusing on building liquid savings. Not saving for house deposit or other goal and already have an e-fund in place. What do?

Anyone manage their own investments? How did you get started? All my money is either in a savings account or 401K and I feel like I should be doing more. But the investment world seems so intimidating, I have no idea where to start and how to ensure compliance with the firm

Is anyone else surprised by the sense of entitlement you see with some of the younger folks/recent grads in tech? One recent example: Our company is offering several generous options as holiday gifts, one of them a new Apple Watch. One employee asked if there was another brand they could have instead. Pre-COVID, someone complained how we didn’t get catered lunch every day, only 3 days a week. In my first job, I was lucky to have a pot of hot coffee. I know, I sound like an old fogey.

Anyone have any advice or tips on what else a company can offer for TC package? What are unique things you’ve heard, seen personally, or asked for that was outside of the salary, bonuses, 401k, & healthcare, etc… that was like ooo I didn’t think of that!

Interested to hear from Associates: if you are able to have hybrid office/WFH schedule but you are still not showing up at the office, what would convince you to do so? Looking for incentives/rewards/prizes - things that might tempt you. (This is not a philosophical debate; I understand and empathize with pandemic realities and I am a full supporter of WFH on a full-time basis, but incentive policies still need to be set so please respond appropriately with reasonable suggestions.) In-house marketing departments are flourishing right now. We’ve hired two new people, and plan on more. And we continue to fire our agencies, from content creation to branding. I think it’s a positive move, as I’ve seen better work related to the brand I work for come from those who understand it best. Tell me again why a full agency is necessary? 😆 We hire and give full benefits, while agencies continue to ask freelancers for discounts, while jacking up their agency rates.

Hi! I need some advice. I got an offer from an agency and I currently work in industry. The offer I got is a little less than my current salary and they said I may be at risk for not getting the same merit raises as others since I’m already above the typical range for the position. I would be jumping down two position titles as well. However the benefits and culture would be a much better match for me as a young professional. Is the lower salary range normal for agency vs. industry? Thanks!

In my early thirties, still an Engagement Manager only making $355k basic, plus benefits and guarenteed minimum bonus of $100k.
