Producers: how good are you with sharing the shortlist with reps if their submitted directors/talent didn’t make the cut?

We are both looking for something serious. I’ve always imagined myself marrying someone closer to my own age. Is age a silly reason to end things?

Found out I’m 7-8 weeks pregnant. I’m on a high visibility project and my role is critical. I work with very senior execs and my due date is 2 months before go live. Should I make the project leadership aware and be transparent so that they can start planning and/or look for a backfill? (I just started the project a month back)

Career advice?

I'm a relatively junior data engineer (2yoe), the only other engineer (senior) that trained me left about a 6 months ago and I negotiated a nice raise for the extra responsibilities.

My performance reviews have been stellar, but my manager is starting to look to hire a senior to help me deliver projects as we do lack capacity right now.

I feel like I might be missing an opportunity to ask for a promotion and hire a junior instead.

Any opinions/tips?

How do you confirm a company that approaches you from Europe is legitimate? I have a media company from Turkey asking me to quote some animation for them. They have a website, have given their address (which is an actual address on google maps), and have given phone numbers which I haven't tried yet. I have let them know that if we work together, I'd require 50% up front, 35% midway and 15% before delivery of final elements and they say they're fine with that. Anything else?

(See wheresspot for thread) While I hope be didn't contract Covid on either of the 2 sets mentioned prior to his illness and death, if it comes back that he did, we need to have a long hard chat about what went wrong.
