Project based roles …. How often do you get assigned to a new project? How many projects do you currently have?

My project load is actually a little on the lighter side st the moment. I am assuming this has to do with the fact that the holidays are just around the corner and the end of the year is almost here. Because typically, I will have anywhere between five to eight, sometimes nine or ten , projects I am working on but right now I have just three. Which is nice since they all must be completed by December 20th

Generally speaking one main project at any time. There can be a lot of little things to it, but I would still count it as one headline one to focus 100% on. Timelines can look different, sometimes it is a few weeks, other times months. Some even years, but that is not the norm for me here.

I work on quite a few projects concurrently. They started me out with one at a time, but ramped up until now where I've been on up to 5 projects actively and 2 more passively at the same time. My mentor works on even more projects than I do. Generally they will pile things on you until you hit maximum capacity. Then that's the amount of work you'll be expected to be able to handle going forward.

Most I’ve had at one time was 27. It was a mix of large, medium and small. Right now I have 7.

As far as how often I get assigned new ones it depends on how frequently we get new clients and how many other PMs (and their experience level). Typically every few weeks to a few months.

OP that honestly depends on how big the project I am working on is and how long it will take to complete. I usually have several going at one time, right now I have 6 that I am working on but two are nearly completed. I think the most I have had at one time was about 15 and it was chaos.

I want to pivot into something else but I have no clue what skills I could transfer elsewhere as what we do is so niche. They sucked me in when they said it would be a FA role but we don’t do any modeling, forecasting, etc.. Any advice/suggest/rec’s much apprecia

I applied for a job at Visa and was contacted the same day. A few days later I had a 30-minute screening interview with the hiring manager. I knew I was very early in the process since the job had only been posted for a few days. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard back, even after reaching out to the recruiter. Have I been ghosted or is there still hope? Does anyone at Visa have insights? Looks like there are a ton of jobs posted so maybe they are just backed up?
