I’ve moved around within the bank a few times but I’m just not happy here nor am I where I want to be in terms of comp . I want to pivot into something else but I have no clue what skills I could transfer elsewhere as what we do is so niche. They sucked me in when they said it would be a FA role but we don’t do any modeling, forecasting, etc.. Any advice/suggest/rec’s much apprecia

I am looking to make a career change to HR. I currently make 75K as a sales and development coach. I had a recent offer for a state government position in a talent acquisition role but I’d be taking a $25K pay cut. I am extremely over qualified for the position but it could possibly be a stepping stone and gives me the time to acquire SHRM certifications and possibly start taking classes to get my MBA. My question is those currently in an HR role, would this move make sense to you?

Recieved an offer from PwC at M, they already raised initial offer by 2k but now I'm hearing rumours salary adjustments coming into effect in July, should I go back and ask for more?

How do you know if this profession is for you? I gave up some hobbies I enjoy during busy season, but have more time for summer hobbies. I don’t want to be like many senior managers in my firm where you stick it out for 10-15 years, then look back with regrets. Feel like I’m at the point (5 yes in) where I dig in and accept this life or get out.

Been with my current company 5 years now. I run my own team but have a micromanaging boss who likes to create chaos for me. Edward Jones advisor with 30 million AUM and roughly 250k gross production. Been there for almost 4 years. Got an offer at Merrill Lynch to take over a 100 million dollar retirement transition plan in 5 years, or to join a 5 person Merrill Lynch team that manages a lot.

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.
