Please evaluate this initial offer for Apple ICT3. I think I was low balled, but I want to take more opinions. Currently Sr. MTS at VMware, received Apple ICT3. I was expecting to get to ICT4 but seems like team thinks upper end of ICT3 is more apt. Also, I think it is because I don’t have any counter offers yet.

Start by moving away from the antiquated “IT” as your descriptor and embrace Technology Operations or Technology Solutions as your platform. People are lining up to jump on the tech bandwagon but I rarely see people wanting to be part of the IT revolution. Modern day IT is more than a support ticket desk, that dude who gives you your company laptop, or the number you call to reset your password for the millionth time. Rebrand and showcase your services and capabilities to campaign your worth in a business language people can understand and justify both capex and opex expenditure.
How have some of you been able to change that “you are an OpEx expense” to “we add value through operational efficiency and technology implementation”, or something like that?

Ah bean counters, they're the reason I lost my first IT role. This was in semiconductor equipment supply and service. Then I got a role in healthcare at a benefits administrator. Healthcare companies takes everything IT seriously which is good for value as an employee.
I like what the other person said about re-framing how they perceive IT. Because accounting is similar across industries, the idea of IT being considered something different probably won't make any sense to accountants. Take the reframe approach and ask them to keep an open mind about what you are attempting to accomplish. Maybe one of them can provide a methodology for this. Bottom line is it never hurts to ask.
