Recruiters genuinely are SO annoying. If you call my work mobile, I don’t answer, don’t call the damn reception and ask to be handed to me. Does this actually work with anyone? Because it’s an instant hangup and note to NEVER use that recruiter ever

3/5 moves in my career started as recruiter calls.

My desk is a cold-call only desk. Reason for that is we develop long-term relationships. We understand that a career move is going to happen on your timeline, not ours. So our goal is to be the recruiter you check in with every 3 months so that when the time comes 3 years from now, the trust is there. That type of deep relationship building only happens with a phone call as the first step.

All I know is I’ve built one of the top recruiting shops in NYC. We work with the best of the best candidates at the best of the best firms. While it may not work for you, there are many candidates who appreciate our approach. As they say, different strokes for different folks.

That said - calling your mobile is a crappy move. Call the landline, leave a vm if needed and follow up with an email.

Hello Fishes,
I am much stressed.. it’s only been 5 months to join Capgemini. I joined in as cyber security consultant with good package.
However, the work I do the tricks, logics and solutions I share with team to apply in the project… all are of no use when discussed with the architect guy. The whole team rely upon the wordings/solutions suggested by him only. It feels like my skill/knowledge and experience is of no use.
I feel like what am I doing here….? Any suggestions please.

What’s the best practice area or type of employer for an introvert? The constant communication of meetings and emails just wears me out. How can I sell my 2 years of clerkship as valuable experience for corporate work? I would like to get credit for at least one year (at least in salary, if I can’t in seniority). I know for litigation they are more clearly valued and linked to that type of work, but I have reconsidered my interests and now am thinking of going into corp. However, I don’t want to feel like I wasted 2 years clerking (which I don’t feel like that, but I have to convince an employer of that too). Any help or insight?

Let’s talk speed reading. I’m a slow reader and listened to a podcast recently on speed reading. I’m intrigued. Who here speed reads? How did you learn those skills, and what types of documents do you speed read in practice?
