I’m not entirely sure this is an HR task. Shouldn’t it be the employees direct manager or department head in charge of ensuring that new employees are staying on tasks and correcting them where correction be made?
It depends on the org. Yes, but once they get to the point where writeups or documentation needs to happen, obviously, we get involved.
Make sure they are being trained properly. Agree with clear expectations, giving them the tools to succeed, and letting them go from there.

Yes I agree, thanks for the advice. Training is key.
The manager should be doing this, not HR.
Manager needs to be trained on how to train employees. Also, "correcting" is different from "coaching to build competence"
I think you have to set up some kind of improvement schedule to correct their behaviors. I would be very clear about expectations, let them know about future check-ins and evaluations. If they have clear benchmarks they can meet, they will be much more likely to improve!

Thanks for the advice, some great tips there!😊
I would start with a calm one-to-one, focusing on clarity not blame. Walk through what needs adjusting, give real examples, and set small goals.

Yes that’s a good idea, to break it down easily and correct little mistakes so they don’t turn into bigger mistakes. Thanks for sharing!
I’m with HRM1, make sure they were trained properly. Maybe they just need some retraining or refresher. I find that most companies do not train properly, they throw new people to the wolves and also they don’t give them enough encouragement when they do things right.

Yes that’s a big problem, I’ve see that happen a couple of times before when some companies just throw you into the deep end and expect you to survive, that’s not right.
