They tell you they will email you a check for office equipment setup. Any legit company will not do this.

I asked if they had an official onboarding process through the company website that included a W-4 and an I-9. They sent me a generic fillable form for an I-9.

They proceeded to tell me to email HR with my DL and SS #

I reported it to the FTC.

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. Interviewed with Google, Amazon, Cisco, McKinsey, and a few others and every-time there is something that is not a match... are the hiring managers looking for like 100% match? That will never happen!!!

Looking for advice on starting a post consulting law career.

I graduated with a JD/MPP, passed the bar, and immediately started at a consulting firm. I’m coming up on my 2 year mark and want to make the switch to practicing law. I’ve been doing human capital consulting in the government space.

My firm has applied for my L1A visa. If that gets denied, my plan is to travel to Canada and re enter US immediately on B1/B2 visa (already have valid B1/B2 stamp) so that I'll get time to figure out things here in the US (sell my stuff, handle my bank accts etc). Is it possible for me to reenter US on tourist visa?

I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented. I'm looking to make a career switch so I can both create and execute on my strategies. A product management path seems very promising for this.

My dad who lives in Asia just announced that he had a medical issue. I’m starting to enter the age where I’m going to take care of him financially. It’s a $2,000 hospital bill which in the US is nothing compared to what it represents there (which he can’t afford). He’s going to be fine! Just wanted to share with this group as many of you can understand what it feels like to support your parents when they’re old, not the other way around. I feel so blessed I can help him. 🙏🏽

Did anyone ever work 2 jobs at once in the same industry? What are some legal boundaries if any ? From my contract it doesn't state I couldn't do this but still I would like to know who and how can find out if I do this activity? I'm guessing the government can always know because they can see additional taxes being paid for the same individual ? However I don't envision a government entity disclosing this to the employers ?
