Marathalli is decent place for family, many essential things are quite accessible
Not a great place to live with family. Huge traffic, crowded most of the times. Try to reside in a nearby gated society, that would be a much better option as a family.
In Bangalore, there is simple rule, take your home near to office as possible. Else you will be enjoying the Bangalore weather daily in traffic!
Good place. If you find a place in a well gated society. If your office is far from Marathahalli and you are expected to go on a frequent basis then be ready to feel frustrated.
This area has good number of gated societies which is free from pollution, traffic and is in Marathalli.

Yes quite good place to live. Slightly more crowded compared to rest of Bangalore. But you have all amenities within walking distance. If you live on ORR, it would be slightly better compared to if you live on HAL Road.
And safety is pretty good all over BLR compared to Kolkata, except for a few pockets. No offense, I'm also from Kolkata.
