What will the project dynamics be on a project staffed with 3mdps, a PL, and myself, a summer UG intern? Just got staffed and will be hearing more on Monday from the team, but it came across as an interesting staffing composition.
Have the feeling I'll be making quite a few slides as the only junior. Anyone staffed on a similar case composition?
How much does a McKinsey 1 st year partner make?
Bain & Company I received an offer to join Bain & Company for SF office but due to family reasons, I will have to stay in the South Bay. Given Bain’s local staffing model, it will be challenging for me to commute to SF and back. Is it possible to be transferred to the palo alto office/is that office fully functioning or does it mainly serve as a hub for partners and research?

Under Rich we went from 3.5B to 10B, close to doubled profitability as a % of revenue and doubled staff. You can disagree with elements of his tenure (and God knows I do) but he’s undoubtedly been an incredibly successful CEO and he’s made his partners very much better off than they were 9 years ago. He managed to do this without any of the major PR blowups that McKinsey experienced, significantly diversified the partnership (way more women, way more countries) and staff (retention rates for women now equal, in the US at least hiring is at parity, harder on ethnic diversity but making progress). He’s personally a nice, genuine guy - takes time to meet with staff and partners, and very humble. Also was super on mitigating climate change 5 years before it was widely popular in corporate America. Honestly deserves the award, regardless of the fact that I and others may not agree with every element of his tenure.
For what it’s worth, i agree with the internal complexity comment. We have so many ABMs and tracks now it’s hard to keep it straight and of course there’s duplication in terms of service offerings across them as well.
Echoing BCG1 in lesser words. Guy is a rockstar, and seems to be well ahead of curve on major trends (both in corporate America as well BCG’s internal strategy). Lot of folks are sour about internal business diversification, but I think they just can’t accept the reality of where the business has to go.
heheh…lesser words
He is a rockstar. Period
Not sure I would say “many” disagree with his expansion. There seems to be 1 single ex-BCG partner on fishbowl who isn’t happy with BCG moving away from pure strategy focus and is very vocal about it.
