M8 gran coupe, rented one the other weekend, put 500 miles on it and couldn't stop giggling.
Try them all and go with what makes you smile the most.
Never buy a new M8.
They are good bargains but I’ve seen a bunch near 70k
The 911 is such a timeless design that will undoubtedly age beautifully. It also helps that they depreciate to a lesser degree vs the other two cars on your list. The 911 is the benchmark all others in the segment compare themselves to.
These are not the same categories.
So I’ll say G80 M3 because you get he driving feel similar to 911 and creature comforts of the other cars.
RS6 if you really want to show you have taste
Cayman GTS 4.0 and a used Volvo SUV
Or more extreme… 911 and an FJ Cruiser
What other cars do you have now? Go for a diverse garage.
The 911 isn't really comparable to the other two
thanks A1 i will look into that. a part of me wants a drivers or fun car and another part of me wants a car that combines the best of both worlds, especially if im dropping over 100k for a car

911. Manual
I don’t believe the base is available with a manual
M8 Gran Coupe? Sounds awesome but I’d still go with RS7 Performance as the hatchback/sportback is incredibly convenient and I just like Audi’s tech and ergonomics more than that of BMW. Also seats 5 more comfortably, rather than 4, if that matters.
Agree that base 911 is completely different unless you were thinking M8 Coupe.
I live in Northeast so wouldn’t consider RWD as primary vehicle.
RWD with snow tires and mid/rear engine is fine as long as you don’t drive like an asshole
Of these, I'd roll an M8 with a tune. The 911 is a great car and fills it's shoes well, it's just not a car I want to drive every day.
If you need a daily, get the rs7 in my opinion.
If this is just your fun car, 911.
If you don’t need any storage space or functional backseats, then get the 911.
The rs7 is quite a bit faster 0-60 than a base 911, but the 911 will handle better and feel faster. 911 is also going to retain its value better.
None of the above. Each is a compromise is one form or another. No need for that, unless it’s a daily. And there are better options if it is.
Is this a daily driver? Only car? How long do you plan on keeping it?
Get a 2 or 3 old used one. Cpo warrantied. I've been thinking of trading out to 911 too. Feels like it'd be cheaper than depreciation on bmw
M8 is a boat, RS7 is boat-ish, 911 is a true 2-door sports car. Your choice
