The Ordinary, Cerave, Cetaphil, gentle ingredients, simple routines
This^
In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial masque which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.
It’s hard because you don’t know what your face will like. We’re all really different. I use an array of stuff from different brands because a particular “X” works for moisturizer.
The brands I use: SK-II, Clinique, Kiehls, Jack Black, Anthony, Shiseido (sp?).
I’ve also used the green, oil-eliminator from Kiehls and it’s awful for my face. I’ve been sticking with the Kiehls men’s facial fuel for years as my daily. Sometimes I use the SK-II if I’m feeling like a treat my face kind of day
Following. I really like Kiehls. I use the Bliss products from W hotels when I’m going out.
Rising Star
Check out Brickell. If they still offer it, they send out a free total face care trial kit and you can try all their products. I use to be a big kiehl’s person as well but switched over to Brickell for moisturizer.
Agree on Brickell. Their stuff is great.
Tiege Hanley
Been using them for two years, my skin is night and day.
I'm in Europe (Denmark) so shipping is a bit of a hassle but the convenience of having a set of good quality products delivered is worth it in my opinion.
The reality is most dermatologists use some mix of CeraVe, The Ordinary, and Neutragena. Most “high end” skin care is all marketing. Mens vs. Women’s is also just marketing; unless you care about smell (though just go for an actual cologne in that case); the actual consideration is just dry/normal/oily
I use La Mer and La Prarie products
Aesop
Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser has been my daily driver for years
I strongly recommend going to a dermatologist to get a skin “check-up” and a full once over. They can recommend tested and effective products to find in stores or via prescription. I stay in close collab with my dermo and it has truly saved my skin. Don’t forget sunscreen!
Have tried all of them, but keep coming back to Clinique for daily moisturizer. Have been using for 20 years now daily and people say I look a lot younger than I am ;-)
Jack Black is great
Hahaha @bliss products. Really? I remember their body wash was pretty solid actually.
Yeah, I feel like Kiehl’s face fuel is a winner and my go to. I’ve also used Lumin (last year before they renamed the company and perhaps changed some products / ingredients) and thought it was good but quite expensive.
The little W bottles. I hate all their lemony stuff but the face wash is clutch.
Origins Checks and Balances
I use Murad though it's not marketing towards man I find it works best for me. I also just started my brichbox subscription and trying different stuff. Its 10 bucks a month and totally worth it specially because products come in travel size (I know everyone is travelling a lot these days lol).

i don’t use any, but occasionally i’ll pick up one of those charcoal masks and pretend i’m patrick bateman
I always get Jack Black products for my dad and he asks for refills every Christmas or birthday. His favorite is the cooling shave gel and exfoliating scrub. I even use (female) the lip balm and hand healer from the brand.
Lumin skin care. Especially like the charcoal face wash
