Premium is a waste of money unless you are into sales role. View’s don’t mean much if they don’t send you messages
Are you doing any social activity that merits people to look at your profile?
If you aren't posting, commenting, engaging on the site then you can't expect people to go out of their way to think of you and be curious enough to view your profile...
Rising Star
What's even sadder is when getting that notification that you've been searched (not viewed) by a particular company is the only source of hope for your career on a given day, week, or even month at this point (6 months of unemployment to the day to today).
I’m in the exact same boat. Over the years I’ve diversified my experience and I’m not getting calls or interviews for ANY other types of work. Being a designer I’m able to transfer my skills to different businesses, but I also have a sales background and those roles (when applied) are often pyramid based in pay structure.
What are you contributing to the network? There are things you can do to gain visibility in the algorithm for sure. I haven’t always gotten traction, but sometimes posting and interacting with other posts has gotten me more visibility.
Recently cancelled my premium also as the insights are not worth the cost in my opinion.
Thank you for reminding me to cancel that. 🤣
Is it updated with ur experience and projects? I found a lot more recruiters reaching out once I updated it with recent work
I repost a lot of positions that are hiring on LinkedIn. I end up getting profile views and followers. That was never my intention but it may serve you well if that's what you're looking for.
20 searches is rough, but it doesnt always mean your profile is bad. LinkedIn search is weirdly inconsistent, and Premium only tells you visibility, not whether recruiters are actually clicking through.
If you want a quick sanity check, I’d compare your headline, about section, and current role keywords against the kinds of jobs you want. I changed mine once after noticing I had almost no role-specific terms in the headline, and the search appearances moved more than the actual profile design ever did. I even ran it through ResumeJudge once just to see what keywords were missing, then fixed the obvious gaps.
Also worth checking if your profile is mostly clickable but not searchable - stuff like a vague headline, no industry keywords, or an about section that reads more like a bio than a recruiter summary can hurt a lot. What role are you targeting, and are you showing up on searches from recruiters or just random profile views?
Your an idiot. It’s only a week.
Ready to job
I’ve built my entire career from my LinkedIn premium subscription. It all depends on how you use it. You have to put in the work. Reach out to people and build relationships.
