Deloitte is better for minorities
Deloitte pays better than EY I think, just accepted an offer with significant jump. 8 years industry plus 3 years in consulting with EY. EY never aligned my salary so had to leave and I think now my salary is aligned after waiting all these years
I think PwC has better work/life balance, and the promotion timelines seem easier to accomplish than at Deloitte
PwC culture differs a lot more practice to practice and by location. Deloitte culture is pretty standard all across - which is not always a good thing.
There are rumors Deloitte is pushing hard to increase their consulting/advisory footprint compared to the other Big4.
Pay, benefits, career advancement and politics are either the same or very different depending on who you talk to. No explicit winners.
If you are looking at both, compare offers, bosses and potential work rather than the name in front of the deck.
Whoops, brother or sister* :)
@ey1 could you elaborate?
What city? What practice?
@pwc1 Boston, advisory
Salam brother - they’re basically the same from what I hear. If you want to do ops and supply chain then Deloitte has a bigger footprint there and thus more opportunity (can’t speak to other practices) but otherwise you’re splitting hairs.
One thing about Deloitte: “firm initiatives” are a big deal and are part of your perf evaluations. These are basically side initiatives (new product offerings, recruiting, etc), and that + utilization
+ client impact is basically your year-end evaluation. I’m pretty sure all firms have the concept of the firm initiatives but I believe D is most strict about holding you having to complete x amount per year. Something to consider.
@deloitte1 JazakAllahu Khyran for your feedback!
