Does anyone ever redeem Marriott points for gift cards? Is it worth it?

Staying at a Hilton currently and have had tons of minor issues in the 3 days We’ve been here. Room wasn’t ready for 45min after check in time, AC did not work, maids did not clean room...continued

Lyft driver delayed picking me up 30 min, resulting in me canceling my ride and asking hotel to call me a “yellow taxi” to get to the airport because it was 5am and all ubers/lyfts were 15 min. Specifically said yellow. Hotel calls me a private lux SUV and the driver got out of the car to handshake the man who called and said hi (honestly money couldve been passed). I then get hit with a $180 ride. Marriott website says taxi should be $65. Should I complain or let it go?

Can someone confirm if Marriott does not give complimentary breakfast with a points booking? Booked with 25k points and was told no complimentary breakfast..

Is it just me or Marriott is actively trying to kill the SPG brand. Have been trying to reach SPG platinum customer service line - 3 attempts so far, each lasting 30 mins, no success yet.

Travel and TTC combo haven’t worked. After 6 months, the only offer I got included 4 weeks paid and FLMA only after 1 year. So 1) go and risk laughable benefits or 2) stay but risk TTC. So shitty 😭

I’m currently in a minor dispute with a company over a credit card overcharge and am wondering if I should have added “Esq.” to my signature in my complaint email lol.

I’m totally empathetic to people that miss offices and traveling. I understand your reasons why, I truly do.

For me personally, after non-stop weekly travel for 4 straight years, not traveling has made me realize how much I enjoy being home. Spending time with family, sleeping in your own bed, consistent exercise schedule, etc.

I for one hope consulting becomes more of a hybrid travel model (i.e. travel 1-2x per month or as needed). Else it won’t be for me.

Anyways, just some thoughts.
