A bad manager can be a career killer especially early on. They’ll burn you out without inspiring you. Try and get to another agency as soon as you can. Don’t quit without a job lined up, it’s always easier to get hired while you’re employed. Currently dealing with a similarly bad manager, but also they’re mean af and it’s brutal. Waiting on some awards announcements before making a move. Good luck! Hope your next boss is better!
It depends on if you think the problem stems from the top or if this is one bad CD. Have you worked with the other team? I’d suggest gauging how much they enjoy their team dynamic before trying to make that move.
This is my boss to a tee. She's an awful communicator and EVERYTHING is urgent in her eyes. It drives me nuts. Things wouldn't always be so hectic if she gave us any kind of warning about upcoming projects and deadlines...
Random meetings and expectations that make you feel like you’re doing something wrong too. It literally makes you go crazy
I needed this!
You’re not alone. Sometimes it’s not you, it’s THEM!
Oh yes, I have worked with a few of those. Everything is always an emergency because they have no idea how to properly organize and schedule. These types of managers are the proof that people quit managers, not jobs.
Literal hell on earth. Then they reprimand you for not keeping up and making their asks a priority when you can’t keep up with their chaos
