Hi All, I fell victim to the recent tech layoffs in July when our startup had its funding pulled mid-series B. I was let go without severance and am starting to panic because sending out resumes in this job market feels like screaming into the void. Do any of you have any hiring leads for mid/senior level marketing communications positions? For reference, my last role was Director of Comms at a consumer health tech brand, 12 yoe total (+6 PR agency) tc $160k based in San Fran.

Ladies, I am so curious because this is a new passion of mine and I’m keen to know how pervasive this is for women in business / execs. How many of you have:
1) heard of the anti-diet / HAES / body neutrality movement?
2) believe that how your body LOOKS relative to others (not how it feels, this is about appearance not health) has a significant impact on how you show up at work? In your career? In your identity as an exec/leader?
3) have no clue what I am talking about?
Honestly I feel so isolated on my project. This WFH has taken a toll on my mental health and I don’t know how much more I can take. I barely speak with anyone other than the other analyst on my project. I want to set up daily touch points just to know I’m not alone. I’ve told my counselor I want to roll off and join a team that interacts more, but he just says to be grateful I have my job and am billable through the year. Is anyone else feeling this way? How do you cope?
Is coffee bad for health?
I feel like I have been internally screaming all day 🙃 Kind of ridiculous how much a job can take over your mental health and how you react to personal things as well..

Hello - Looking for some advice. I’m hoping to get an MBA and make a career pivot into a strategy/operations-focused role at a tech startup in the health and wellness space. My only work experience is in private credit investing for a boutique firm in NYC, so I’m wondering if it makes sense to pursue a role at a reputable consulting firm to improve my resume and gain some more structured professional experience as opposed to going directly to a start up? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!
