Another offer mid level company 10k strength - 27.5 lpa with gratuity

How much I can expect Barclays to increase my ctc or should I negotiate with them.

I have some programming experience but excel mostly in mechanical and product design as well as 3D CAD. How do I know Big-Law is not for me?

I am a first year who just started a couple of months ago and I am literally confused all the time. I did some small work for two partners and they loved it, so put me on new deals but the mid levels I am staffed with absolutely hate the work I do. One said the work I did was laughable. I felt bed because I spent over 25 hours on this. I wouldn’t be very bothered but the other Associates in my class are killing it. So I just feel dumb all the time.

I am meeting my girlfriend’s parents for the first time this weekend for dinner at a pretty nice restaurant. Her parents are fairly traditional Chinese mom and dad and I am not Chinese, or Asian for that matter… I don’t want to show up empty-handed - any ideas on good gifts for first time meeting Chinese parents?

One of my top talents just put in his two weeks notice and I had nothing to offer him to stay. I told upper management this was going to happen! I’ve spent months asking for a promotion for him, trying to push his career forward and got no traction. I know i did my best. He knows i tried.
