Got selected in 1st technical round from Accenture. Hr called for package discussion and finalized the pay. Have uploaded all the documents and eaf got completed. Now again today got call from some person for telephonic technical round. I had completed that waiting for results. What does this really mean? Am I got selected or should wait for second technical round result. Will they release offer or not. Accenture

Racism in the US against immigrants in not new. It’s just that now they have all the power to do whatever they want. Visa program needed reforms for years, that’s not up to debate. But that’s not their objective. It is complete shut down of all immigration and culture policing.
Remember the words “first they came for socialists..”… this is not stopping here. If you don’t see it and keep finding justifications like EY 1 and obscene amount of self hate by EY 2 here, you are in for a ride. EY2 and their type like to go to right wing rallies and apologize for being Indian while getting booed. What an absolute shame. Bell curve? Grow a spine.
There is but there is also cringy activities desis do, imagining nobody is going to talk behind their backs. The horrible culture they bring at workplaces which has gotten so normalized it’s almost blasphemy to question it, unnecessary micromanagement, lack of respect towards fellow desis, talking too loud at office during meetings, general lack of communication skills, remaining extremely tongue tied encouraging toxic workplaces to name a few. Obviously general optics will not be great. Now you can cut me off saying not everyone does all this because even I’m from the subcontinent but bell curve for above is pretty fat in the middle. Optics depends on how everyone fair, it doesn’t matter if some of you do it right. I don’t even want to get started about scams some demographics do.
EY3 well you gave your verdict that it’s self pity, which clearly isn’t, there is no issue in retrospecting what your community lacks and speaking out loud, which this community hate doing. No matter what explanation I give, you are going to dismiss it. Good luck and for the very same reasons we collectively have terrible optics and it’s not going to change no matter how nicely you try to whitewash or attack me by broadcasting any sort of allegations.
Isn’t it same as India campaigning “make in India “ to create more jobs in India. Trump administration is targeting manufacturers “make in US” and IT services industries to target H1-B. Companies are abusing H1-B jobs to please shareholders.

Once you start realizing most behavior is tribal you sort of understand why people behave the way they do - so what do you do?
1- You accept it, fortify yourself and move on, or 2- you find a tribe you fit into and thrive, or 3- you rise above it and create a better world that goes beyond tribes (which ironically creates its own tribe).
I chose the first option. Bit of lone wolf for 2 and not progressive enough for 3.

OP, why does inclusivity matter so much? Mo country owners Indians social inclusivity just because we are on an endless nonimmigrant visa status. They pay you fair wages, you have a good quality of life - clean air, water, personal space and privacy, etc. Why should others have to only have a positive view of your presence here? You follow the laws, play by the rules and stay in your lane while respecting others' cultures. What more can we ask for?
I'm not sure if you should categorize reactions to H1b news as hate. It is because H1b has been receiving bad rap for sometime and the weak job market is not helping the situation.
AWS1 is part of the problem, they do all or atleast a subset of the things I mentioned and never retrospect. Well atleast they definitely spoke like someone from AWS.

Respect others if you respect yourself. That’s the very idea of retrospection which you seem to lack. With all due respect, I never responded to you directly, you could have just scrolled if you were so immune as you claimed in your note.
EY2 - that’s a lot of self pity. How does it address the perception of cheap labor and we are taking their jobs?
