Don’t get to it till Monday- simple!
Exactly. Please do ignore or set a rule to move all messages to “unread” folder unless if the subject has emergency.
Honestly, I do send emails on Sunday because that’s my way to organize week ahead and especially because offshore gets to start the week a day in advance and I’d want to set the priorities for them. I do cc people from the US and would have mentioned or discussed in advance to see if they’d work or have plans to work on weekends and if not, totally understand and would let them know when things are expected
Dang.. where do you guys work? People on my team send emails over the weekend but frankly I just don’t open until Monday morning and no one seems to care

Woke up to client sending me like 10 emails as well. Creates such a toxic environment IMO. I purposely have my emails delayed being sent until Monday morning if I’m sending emails over the weekend.
👆🏽🎉. I use that delay feature all the time. After 9pm or so weekdays and on weekends
Just because it arrives Sunday doesn’t mean you have to read it Sunday.
Lol I usually send emails on Sunday for the work I was supposed to have completed last Friday :p

My client is the same way 10-20 emails every single weekend, then Monday 8:00 am first meeting the client make references to those emails expecting a response in the meeting and every Monday morning my response has been the same...I dont check emails through the weekend unless we are in a go live or hypercare urgent matter, but that have not been the case yet ...is specially clienta that have their kids already raised and are bored at home all the time...people with true families and kids or that enjoy life don’t do that crap

As a manager, I sometimes send emails out on weekends. However, I also explicitly tell my staff in advance that I don’t expect them to read or respond to them until Monday. Setting expectations up front I find helps to alleviate any perceived pressure to work the weekend.
Chief
On the rare occasion I send weekend emails, I put a bolded statement at the top of the email to the effect that no response or action is requested till Monday, just sending it FYSA. I also put "Just FYSA" at the start of the subject.
If there's something truly urgent and unplanned that comes up over the weekend, I will text or call my team to give them a heads-up. I have explicitly told them to feel free to ignore any emails I send over the weekend that aren't prefaced by a text/call.
For myself, unless there's some weekend work that I knew about ahead of time, I turn off my work laptop and phone Friday evening and usually don't turn them on again till Sunday evening for no more than 5-10 minutes just to check to make sure there aren't any surprise Monday morning meetings or action items.

I sometimes like to clear out my todo list and prep for the week on Sunday. It makes for a less stressful week for me. As part of that, I often send emails out to teammates.
But this is my process. I don’t expect that anyone will respond on the weekend, which is their time.
