Including your address isn't that important, people will assume you live locally. What is important is to make sure you include reliable ways of contacting you, preferably a cell phone number and an email address. It's weird how people sometimes apply and we find we don't have a way of contacting them, the number they give doesn't work or whatever.
I've been working remotely for a while now, and it's been going well. Though I'm not rich, I make enough to live comfortably. If anyone is interested, I'm happy to share what I do and how I got started!
I put my city on my resume so that they know I'm not commuting from too far, but I leave my address off. Rent is expensive so to afford it, I don't live in an especially good area. I don't want that to be held against me by a hiring manager.

I don’t think it’s necessary. The city and state in which you live, a phone number and an email will suffice.

It could also be a way that an employer would discriminate against you, discounting you as a candidate, based on your distance from the job, even if you have a reliable mode of transportation.
